What keyboard layouts does Kluppy support?
Kluppy supports four keyboard layouts:
- US (ANSI) — the standard US keyboard, with the apostrophe key to the right of the L and a rectangular Enter key.
- UK (ISO) — like the US one, but with the tall Enter key, the extra key next to the left Shift, and
#~beside the return key. - Spanish (ISO) — with the Ñ to the right of the L and the accent key beside it.
- Latin American — the ANSI-shaped Spanish layout used across Latin America.
Everything adapts to the layout you use. That means the on-screen keyboard drawing, the finger assigned to each key, the spoken lesson instructions, and the order in which keys are taught. On a US keyboard the home row ends with the semicolon; on a Spanish one, with the Ñ. Your course follows your keyboard, not the other way around.
You don’t have to set anything up. Kluppy works out which layout you’re using the first time you sign in, from your browser and system settings. If what you actually type suggests a different keyboard, it offers to switch — you decide, and it never changes your choice again.
You can also choose it yourself in Settings → Keyboard layout. If you’re using Kluppy through a school, your school may have set one layout for everyone; in that case the option appears locked.
Changing your keyboard doesn’t affect your progress. Your level, stats, and achievements are independent of the layout, so you can switch machines or layouts whenever you need to.
