The Ñ key is not working for me in the exercises, what should I do?

First, the short answer: if your keyboard has no Ñ key, you shouldn’t be asked for one.

The Ñ belongs to Spanish. It shows up in your exercises only when two things are true: you’re practicing in Spanish, and your keyboard layout has that key. If you’re being asked to type an Ñ you don’t have, something is set wrong — and it’s fixable in a few seconds.

If your keyboard is not Spanish

Check Settings → Keyboard layout and make sure it matches the keyboard in front of you (US, UK, Spanish, or Latin American). If it’s set to a Spanish layout by mistake, your exercises will follow the Spanish course, Ñ included.

Also check Settings → Practice languages. If Spanish is selected there, your texts will be Spanish texts, which naturally contain Ñ.

If you do have a Spanish keyboard and the Ñ still doesn’t type

Then it’s your operating system, not Kluppy: your system layout probably isn’t set to Spanish even though the keycaps say so.

  • Open anywhere you can type — the browser address bar works — and press the Ñ key. If nothing appears there either, the problem is outside Kluppy.
  • Windows: Settings → Time & language → Language & region. Set the keyboard to Spanish (Spain). With several layouts installed, switch with Windows + Spacebar.
  • macOS: System Settings → Keyboard → Input Sources → add Spanish – ISO.
  • ChromeOS: Settings → Device → Keyboard → Input methods.

One less common cause: a browser extension that intercepts keystrokes. Try an incognito window to rule it out.
