What is a Ghost Duel (asynchronous)?

It is a duel against a recorded replay. When someone completes a great race, their “ghost” is saved: the exact path of their keystrokes. When you accept the challenge, you compete against that ghost in real time, even if the other person is not online.

What it is used for

  • Challenging without being online at the same time: you send your race and the other person plays it whenever they want.
  • Competing against yourself: beating your own replay is the most honest way to see if you are improving.
  • In class, it allows you to set up challenges between students without requiring everyone to be online at the same time.

The texts for the ghost duel are 300 to 400 characters long, just like the ones in one-on-one duels.
