What are Duels and how do they work?

Duels are typing races: the exact same text for everyone, and whoever finishes first wins. There are four modes —against the computer, live against another person, against a recorded replay, and a survival mode for up to 20 players— and all of them use the full keyboard.

The four modes

• Duel vs CPU (warm-up): you compete against a bot. No pressure, ideal for getting started.
• PvP Duel (Live): a private room with a code you share. Once the other person joins, the race begins.
• Ghost Duel: you record your best race and send the challenge. Whoever accepts it competes against your replay, key by key.
• Survival Royale: up to 20 players; the ones who fall behind are eliminated.

Things to keep in mind

• The Duel vs CPU is available in all plans, including the Free plan. Online duels against other people —PvP, Royale, and Ghost Duel— are part of the PRO plan.
• Duels use the entire keyboard, not just the keys you have learned. They are advanced training: if you are just starting out, it is normal to come across letters you haven’t practiced yet.
• They do not affect your course progress: they are a separate mode.
• If the account has parental control enabled for social features, duels and the friends list will not appear.
